Fredericks, Dorothy A., 87, of Bethpage, passed away April 10, 2024. Retired elementary school teacher for the New York City Department of Education. Reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband of 58 years, Louis. Treasured mother of James, Stephen, Daniel and Suzanne Fillingham (Mark). Adored grandmother of James Ian. Loving sister of William Ducas (Madeleine) and sister-in-law of Patricia Reidlinger. She is loved and will be missed by her nieces, nephews, family and friends. Dorothy was loving, caring, sociable, supportive and positive, making her a confidant to many. She had a deep faith and enjoyed reading her daily Psalms. Dorothy was a talented cook, making delicious food for family and friends to enjoy. She enjoyed going for walks on the boardwalk at Jones Beach, flowers, traveling, art, museums, shopping at T.J. Maxx, collecting gingerbread houses and decorating her home for every holiday. She was blessed to still have childhood friends, sorority sisters and teacher friends for social events. Frequently, Dorothy would play Mahjong with her sister-in-law, Pat, and meet up with her friends for a lunch date. Dorothy will be forever missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. The family will receive visitors Sunday, April 14th, 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Arthur F. White Funeral Home, Inc., 234 Broadway, Bethpage. Funeral Mass Monday, April 15th, 10 am at St. Martin of Tours RC Church. Interment following at Calverton National Cemetery.
