Mondiello, Michael Andrew, 85, of Bethpage, passed away April 9, 2024. Retired NY City Transit Authority Supervisor. He was married at 20 to his wife Carmela and they were happily married for 64 years. Mike was an ardent sportsman, played baseball and roller hockey in Bayridge Brooklyn and when he moved to LI he played ice hockey on a traveling team until he was 55 years old. He was his son Michael's varsity ice hockey coach for many years at Bethpage High School and was loved within the community for his enthusiastic, charismatic personality. He was also his daughter Michele's softball coach. His fun time in his later years was spent at the racetrack and on the golf course. Mike had many curve balls thrown his way, but he didn't let them stop him. He persevered and he often said, if it weren't for his wife Carmela he would not have been alive. Mike was lovable and made us laugh often till we cried. He was a father full of affection. Lastly, he was proud of his children, daughter Michele and son Michael and his wife Jodi and his 3 grandchildren, Caroline, Mikey and William, who became great achievers in both academics and sports.
